HC orders no protests except Freedom Park in Bengaluru
The High Court on Thursday issued a notification that no political or non-political organization or group should hold any protests, processions or meetings in Bangalore other than Freedom Park.
The High Court has issued the order after political parties and organizations have taken the plight of the people every time they march. The government has been instructed to take immediate action.
A voluntary public interest petition filed by the High Court in this regard was taken up by a divisional bench of Chief Justice Rituraj Abeyastu and Justice SR Krishna Kumar.
Hearing parties, political or non-political organizations can conduct hike-protests. These protests, however, are severely disrupting the traffic and daily activities of the city's population. Thus. No political party or organization has been ordered to protest in any part of Bangalore city except Freedom Park.
The High Court has instructed the state government to take appropriate action and report to the court if any protests or any such activities are carried out other than Freedom Park.
